Madison has been working in the construction field over the past 11 years as a framers assistant, electrical apprentice, welder, in steel fabrication and held the role of worker rep on JHSC committees. This has given him the ability to empathize with workers and better assist companies with communication and implementation of the company management system in a practical manner to improve communication and understanding from management to the worker.
Madison has his NCSO and Gold Seal Professional Safety Practitioner Certification aims to excel both in onsite coaching and the training and development sectors of the health and safety program. He is developing and teaching awareness programs to help companies reduce their occupational health risks and training workers on the proper use of personal protective equipment and how to maintain specialized equipment properly.
Madison has a strong sense of the environment and strives to reduce the impact construction has by providing training on hazardous substances and how to dispose of them as well as how to control the likelihood of exposure to workers and the environment.
Madison is also a Certified Joint Health and Safety Representative and attends many start-up meetings as a guest and assists in the setup of workplace committees. He is passionate about ensuring workers understand their collective responsibilities for their own safety and that of others they work with on the jobsite and demonstrates this through mentoring and instruction.
Taking on the role of a consultant with aspirations to complete his NCSO this year, Madison has had the opportunity to apply his studies and experience in the field alongside the trades he has come to know and respect.
